1. Visible Gap in Open Position:
   When the switch is in the open position, there must be a clear, visible gap. A series disconnect switch is not necessary. During maintenance of electrical equipment, simply disconnecting the high-voltage load switch is sufficient.
2. Ability to Withstand Interruptions:
   The load break switch must be capable of handling the specified number of interruptions during operation.
3. Ability to Close Short-Circuit Current:
   While the high-voltage load switch is not required to interrupt short-circuit currents, it must be able to close under short-circuit conditions.
